The Nurse position at Lifestyle Medicine Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation (ICR) would be to assist in monitoring and progressing patients in the gym space, considering their current health and disease status. The ICR nurse would be working in an interdisciplinary setting, with strong collaboration required between the ICR program administrator, and Registered Dietitian (RD).

The ideal candidate for this role participates and or supports Plant Based Diet and other scientific methods proven to reverse heart disease, such as CHIP (Complete Health Improvement Program), Diabetes Reversal Program, Pritikin Program, Traditional Cardiac Rehab and Nutrition Education.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
· Collaborate with team to provide best plan of care for each patient on an individual basis.
· Proficient with patient education regarding health/disease status, associated therapies, and ongoing benefits in program participation and completion.
· Proficient with patient education regarding health/disease status, associated therapies, and ongoing benefits in program participation and completion.

· Collaborate with team to establish proper procedures in initiating and progressing an exercise program.
· Establish positive and supportive rapport with patients.
· Successful completion of Pritikin LLC course materials, and proficiency in dissemination information to patients.
· Mediate clear and open communication between the patient and their primary care provider and/or cardiologist.
· Accurately take, categorize, and interpret cardiac rhythms, physiological, observational, and subjective measures of health.
· Educate patients on the importance of maintaining pre-established plan of care with PCP and cardiologist while starting the new exercise program.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· A current Texas professional nursing license (RN)
