Exhibit and perform Medical Assistant skills, enhancing the doctor/patient relationship within the Permian Cardiology, Inc healthcare offices. Assume an organizational and leadership position, encouraging an optimum environment of communication, performance, and customer service, among patients and fellow employees.
SHIFT & SCHEDULE
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
• Perform all duties in accordance with established policies and procedures

• Maintain neat and well-ordered work environment
• Assist in the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies

• Pertinent professional documentation of patient communications and circumstances.

• Relationship with fellow workers and superiors.

• Directs and coordinates activities of medical assistants including patient intake, EKG’s and other assigned areas related to job skills
• Appropriately schedule of medical assistant staff to ensure proper coverage of area at all times to include but limited to lunch hours, vacation and unexpected sick leave while minimizing overtime hours.
• Work as Medical Assistant in preparation of patients for examination injections and testing.
• Perform casting, suture removal, and testing as directed by provider or protocol.
• Advising patients as directed by provider (i.e., in regards to needs for education, results, doctor referrals, refill of medications, pre certs for MRI, Cat Scan, or Synvisc).
• Management of medical supplies, instruments, and equipment including proper storage, cleaning and monitoring requirements for operation.
• Return patient calls.
• Responsible for scanning all clinical information into EHR.
• Assist other providers’ medical assistants with Task A above when demand is high.
• Float to other providers to perform the above tasks when needed.
• Work with leadership to create a culture of accountability and ownership.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer Texas credentialing certificate in Medical Office Assisting
• Possess the practical and technical knowledge required for his/her job
• Three years’ experience in medical office setting as a medical assistant preferred but not required.
