ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
· Coordinates safe and effective care considering the age and specific needs of the patient.
· Prioritizes demands with resources to meet individualized patient needs, and makes appropriate decisions exercising independent judgment.
· Plans, implements and evaluates nursing care to pediatric neurology patients. Utilizes critical thinking skills to achieve the highest quality standards by following established procedures in compliance with best practice. Incorporates continuous performance improvement recommendations into daily work.
· Provides secretarial support for provider(s) (answering phone calls, ordering and maintaining stock of supplies, etc.)
· Preparation of patients for examination and testing.G. Triage and assessment of patients
· Communicates professionally and effectively (hear, listen, speak) with patients, family,visitors, physicians, physician office staff, hospital employees, and other health team members.
· Recognizes and responds effectively to verbal, nonverbal, and written communications and utilizes and applies medical terminology appropriately.
· Demonstrates appropriate communication and interpersonal skills to enhance teamwork and collaborates with healthcare team to enhance daily workflow.
· Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· A current Texas professional nursing license (LVN or RN)
· One to two years of Pediatric or Neurology experience preferred.
