Job Description

Exhibit and perform professional clinical judgment and skills, enhancing the doctor/patient relationship within the Premier Physicians healthcare offices. Assume an organizational and leadership position, encouraging an optimum environment of communication, performance, and customer service, among fellow employees.

 

SCHEDULE

Full Time

Monday - Friday

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

· Coordinates safe and effective care considering the age and specific needs of the patient.
· Prioritizes demands with resources to meet individualized patient needs, and makes appropriate decisions exercising independent judgment.
· Plans, implements and evaluates nursing care to pediatric neurology patients. Utilizes critical thinking skills to achieve the highest quality standards by following established procedures in compliance with best practice. Incorporates continuous performance improvement recommendations into daily work.
· Provides secretarial support for provider(s) (answering phone calls, ordering and maintaining stock of supplies, etc.)
· Preparation of patients for examination and testing.G. Triage and assessment of patients
· Communicates professionally and effectively (hear, listen, speak) with patients, family,visitors, physicians, physician office staff, hospital employees, and other health team members.
· Recognizes and responds effectively to verbal, nonverbal, and written communications and utilizes and applies medical terminology appropriately.
· Demonstrates appropriate communication and interpersonal skills to enhance teamwork and collaborates with healthcare team to enhance daily workflow.
· Performs other duties as assigned

· Ability to work under stress


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· A current Texas professional nursing license (LVN or RN)

· One to two years of Pediatric or Neurology experience preferred.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

·To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The individual must be able to:

·Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
